This Standard outlines principles for validating and verifying greenhouse gas (GHG) statements, as well as specific requirements and guidance. It applies to GHG statements made by organizations, projects, and products, and provides examples of how validation and verification approaches are used for GHG inventories, project assessments, and product carbon footprints that conform with ISO 14064-1 and 14064-2 and ISO 14067 Standards. The ISO 14064 family of standards does not favour any particular GHG program, and if a GHG program is relevant, its requirements take precedence to the requirements of the ISO 14064 family of standards.
